                      MASS TREE PLANTATION PROGRAMME

Mass Tree Plantation Programme was taken up in the Vidyalaya on 22.07.2019 along with Airport Authority of India. The Chairman of Vidyalaya Management Committee Shri Madhavan addressed the students in an interactive way regarding the environment and Shri ShreeKumar, Director of Airport spoke on Pancha Bhootha how it can be advantageous and disadvantageous. Two songs and two skits related to nature were a part of the programme.
                       Then it was followed by Mass Tree plantation. More than 100 (Sponsored by AAI) trees were planted in the Vidyalaya surrounding the football ground. Airport authorities and students took an active part in this programme. Various slogans were also repeated by the students related to nature and held placards for the same. Students also contributed plants and those saplings were also planted in the Vidyalaya. The members of Nature Club also took an active part in the programme.
                        The students are taking efforts to take care of the trees so that it will help the future generation. So the Mass Tree Plantation Program was taken up successfully in the Vidyalaya.











                        

INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2019-2020


                                 INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY


Kendriya Vidyalaya Minambakkam celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June 2019 between 6.15 am to 7.30 am. Yoga in everyday life is one of the healthiest practice people can ever make. To promote and pass on the age-old tradition of yoga, International yoga day celebration was organized by the Airport Authority of India and K.V. Minambakkam.
Airport Authority officials Shri.Madhavan, Shri.Sreekumar and look-alike of Mahatma Gandhi Shri.Gandhi Kannan graced the ceremony with their presence. 
The students were made to assemble in different houses. Prayers were recited before and after the programme. The yoga instructor and the demonstrators taught the students various yogasanas like Ardhachakraasana, Utkataasana, Trikonasana, Padhahastaasana, Surya Namaskar, and Pranayama (Nadi shuddi). The students were also made aware of the benefits of different yogasanas. The AAI staff, the students and staff of the Vidyalaya participated in the yoga session with zeal and enthusiasm. After the yoga session, the students were provided with tasty and nutritious breakfast.
A participant, said “We really enjoyed the yoga session. It was refreshing and a wonderful way of starting school after the summer vacation”. The principal expressed her happiness that the yoga day celebration was a grand success.
