                                                    INDEPENDENCE DAY 2019-20

 Independence Day Was celebrated on 15th Of August 2019 with full enthusiasm in the school campus. Parents were invited and seated on chairs. The students assembled in the prayer ground and the flag was hoisted by Principal Mam Mrs Chitra Mukundan which was followed by the national anthem.

 After the national anthem, patriotic songs were sung by the choir group. Sriranjini of class 12 gave the welcome address and she welcomed the chief guest, parents, teachers and the students. After the welcome address speeches were delivered by two primary children spoke on patriotism towards the country there speeches were followed by A group dance after the dance a song was sung by the secondary children and some children danced to the song. Principal Mam delivered a speech on true Independence and how we should achieve it after that parents and students dispersed after collecting the chocolates

Cluster level social science exhibition was held on 14.08.19 at the premises kv minambakkam on the topic EK BHARAT SHRESHTA BHARAT.

Many schools paricipated in this exhibition with their full enthusiasm.  A total of eight schools participated in this exhibition namely kv hvf avadi, kv afs avadi, kv crpf avadi, kv ocf avadi,  kv minambakakam, kv DGQA, kv takkolam, kv arakkonam.kv minambakkam  bagged first position in spell bee(6-8)and(9-12), debate in english, story telling in hindi.

KARGIL DIVAS

On 26^th July 2019, the Kargil divas were celebrated in Kendriya Vidyalaya Minambakkam in the honour of the Kargil war heroes. On this date, in 1999 India gained victory in the Kargil war fought against Pakistan. The event was honoured by the presence of the lieutenant-general  Shri Suraj Nair as the chief guest.</sub>

_{The programme began with a patriotic song sung by class 11 children. It was followed by a speech on Kargil by Srivatsan of class 11-A. Lokamitra and Shruthi of class 11-B wrote letters about the Indian army and presented it to the chief guest. The children of the Vidyalaya prepared greeting cards as a token of affection and gratitude to the brave soldiers.}

_{The lieutenant general Shri Suraj Nair addressed the children. He started by giving first-hand details on the Kargil war. He explained the conflict between India and Pakistan. He acknowledged students about the difficulties faced by the army men and how bravely they tackle it. He mentioned about the different soldiers who were honored with the ‘’Param Vir Chakra’’.  He advised the children to respect their parents, teachers, and soldiers. His words inspired the young minds of the Vidyalaya.}

              ALUMNI DAY – A COMING TOGETHER OF 1994 BATCH

The coming together of students who had passed out from this Vidyalaya in the year 1994 happened to meet on 21^th of June 2019 at Kendriya Vidyalaya Meenambakkam. It was a day for the Alumni and their teachers to reminisce and reconnect with their friends and mentors.

The day began with the Alumni, honoring their teachers on stage during the Vidyalaya’s assembly program. It was a proud moment for the teachers to witness their students to reach great heights. Mr. Gomathi presented a motivational talk encouraging students to remain focused on their studies and being grateful to their Alma mater. The alumni contributed furniture for the teachers and play equipment for the Children’s park. Later the contributors were honored by other alumni members. This was followed by the inauguration of the eagerly awaited play park for the students of the primary wing.

The day was filled with sweet voices of recalling memories of the good old days. It was one memorable day for the batch of 1994. The members of the Alumni during the course of the day held a meeting to discuss their future endeavors and also hosted lunch for the staff.
